Year of Quantum Science Events //

The United Nations proclaimed 2025 the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. This marks 100 years since the initial development of quantum mechanics. The UN declaration highlights the importance and impact of quantum science worldwide, as well as the need to raise public awareness of quantum science and its applications.
This year, the Geneva Quantum Centre will be contributing to the awareness raising activities, organising events and highlighting some of the contributions to quantum science that have been made over the years by researchers at the university of Geneva.
There will be public lectures, open days, and a range of activities for all ages and interests.
UNESCO has a more information about how this is shaping up on an interenation scale, but below you can find a list of events that are coming or in preparation. This will be updated with more information as it comes.

Physique quantique - A l’aube d’une nouvelle révolution
Quantum physics has revolutionized our world and enabled major advances in technology. A second revolution is underway with quantum computers and communications, offering unprecedented capabilities. Quantum sensors and materials are also opening up new perspectives in medicine and electronics. Professor Nicolas Brunner will explore these advances in his Spring Semester Opening Lecture.
