About Us //
The Geneva Quantum Centre brings together diverse actors and activities at the University of Geneva spanning a wide range of topics in quantum science and technologies. The GQC spans theory to experiment as well as fundamental to applied research, creating an exciting environment driven by world-leading researchers. This builds on a long history, over 20 years, of breakthrough quantum science and, with a focus on education, aims to provide the starting point for the quantum scientists and engineers of the future in this rapidly advancing field.
Our mission //
The Geneva Quantum Centre aims to leverage the existing world-class expertise in quantum science available in the Physics Section and the Faculty of Science, in order to:
- Explore uncharted domains of quantum sciences at the interface between quantum communication, quantum sensing, quantum materials, and quantum simulations with enormous potential for unexpected scientific discoveries.
- Educate and train the next generation of engineers and professionals in quantum science and prepare them for hi-tech activities.
- Create a reference point in Geneva for quantum initiatives, involving local, national and international organisations.
- Engage in outreach activities at multiple levels, to inform the public about important developments in quantum science and to offer the knowledge needed for science-based decision making.
