A quantum Nobel Prize //

Awarded to John Clarke of the United Kingdom, John M. Martinis of the United States, and Michel H. Devoret of France, this year’s Nobel Prize in Physics recognizes researchers in quantum physics. Professor at the Faculty of Science and specialist in the field, Nicolas Brunner explains, on the RTS program Forum, the challenges associated with the work of the three laureates, which dates back to the 1980s and 1990s. Their work plays a key role in current research in quantum physics aimed at practical applications, such as quantum computing and communication. Geneva enjoys an international reputation for developments in this field.
